Nutrition Recommendations
Question
Recommendation 1.1
Perform a thiamin challenge in all individuals with MSUD except those known to have the 1312T>A homozygous mutation or other mutations resulting in less than 3% BCKD enzyme activity.

Initiate a thiamin challenge with a dosage 50-200mg/day

Evaluate response to thiamin challenge over a four week period by assessing plasma BCAA and/or tolerance for dietary BCAA.
